Donations to CCA

Donations to the Clan Crawford Association help preserve our shared history, support ongoing research, and strengthen connections among Crawfords and allied families around the world.

As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, CCA relies on the generosity of members and friends to advance projects that protect heritage, expand genealogical discovery, and foster community.

Below you’ll find several active initiatives that reflect the mission of Clan Crawford — from preserving historic sites in Scotland to supporting DNA research and clan outreach efforts. We invite you to consider contributing to any of these meaningful projects and thank you for helping keep the Crawford story alive for future generations.

Kilbirnie Auld Kirk Ayrshire Scotland

The Kilbirnie chapel has been in existence since 1127 and was attended by the Crawfords of Kilbirnie.  The name of Crawford came to this district when the male line of Lord Barclay ended.  The lands passed to Malcolm Crawford of Greenock through marriage to Marjory Barclay.  The church became protestant in 1567 when a Mister Crawford became the vicar.  Crawfords were associated with this church until 1808.  The Auld Kirk has recently been divested by the Church of Scotland and was up for sale. The whole £70,000 for the purchase of the Kirk has been put up by a local benefactor. They are seeking legal advice as to how to use his money to transfer the building into the ownership of the Charity.   Clan Crawford has been one of the groups attempting to save the church as a historic building.

The annual budget needed to operate and care for the Kirk is estimated to be 25,000 pounds.  $2,500 dollars has been pledged by our members to go toward  the operating budget.  Can you donate to this worthy project?

Connecting with Crawford Genes in the UK

Kevan Evans and Dave Nicolson of CCA have led this project to obtain more Y-DNA sampled from individuals living in the United Kingdom and Ireland in an attempt to obtain more data to connect others in the world to their UK roots.  Contributions of funds are being made to encourage UK individuals to have their Y-DNA tested through our partners at Family Tree DNA.  A contribution here may encourage someone in the UK to help you find your roots.

Clan Crawford Tent Support

We are always looking for CCA members who are willing to establish a clan tent at their local highland games and to provide information and new friendships with fellow Crawfords.

A donation here will help with the expense of purchasing a tent and other equipment needed to support the clan tent sponsor.

Special Grants Fund

Special grants are made periodically for a specific need.  For example, one Crawford girl needed money for highland dancing shoes.  These grants are reviewed by EXCOM for approval.

CCA Operations

Clan Crawford relies upon annual membership fees and donations for our operation and activities of the CCA.  Any donations to the general fund are appreciated.
