The Caledonian Club of San Francisco will host the Highland Gathering and Games for the 160th year on September 5 and 6th, 2026 at the Alameda County Fairgrounds in Pleasanton, Ca. The games will include the 2026 Men’s Scottish Heavy Athletics World Championships as well as the 50th Annual U.S. Invitational Heavy Athletics Championships. Live entertainment includes Highland dancing, piping, drumming, soccer, sheepdog trials, birds of prey demonstrations, animal exhibitions, living history reenators including Adrian Paul famous for his portrayal of Duncan MacLeod on the TV series Highlander: the Series.

The Clan Crawford Association will be represented by myself, (Jay Crawford) Cristie Crawford and Lois Crawford Alger Kortz . We will have three adjoining tents. The first will be youth activities including free coloring/adventure books with crayons, as well as a corn hole game and faux caber toss. The middle tent will be for discussing clan history, genealogy, travel and for recent events which will be tomorrow’s history. We will have a display board of pictures of relatives that you have who have served in the military, emergency response, the medical field, teaching or any other type of community service. We will start folders where we can put short bios of people that you would like to have recognized as well as stories of your personal family history. This is all voluntary. We spend a lot of time talking about what happened 1,000 years ago and forget that tomorrow’s history is happening right now. We will also post schedules, if you want, of people who are competing in this events games. Do you have someone running the kilted mile, dancing solo or with a troop, etc. This way we can encourage each other.

The last tent is for anyone who needs to get in out of the sun. We will have camp chairs set up, swamp coolers, free water and soda while it lasts.
